Atlantic Coast Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and achievement-oriented individual to assist in the design of solid waste projects. Typical tasks may include:

  • Preparation of design and construction plans for landfill cell or landfill gas extraction systems including grading design, roadway design, site design, utilities and stormwater management design, erosion and sediment control design as well as profiles, details, and volume calculations
  • Stormwater hydrology design calculations
  • Pumping systems design
  • Research local and state regulations and verify compliance
  • Customize typical details and standard construction specifications for use in construction documents

Successful candidate will prepare drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D as well as other various design software. Candidate must have working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and be proficient in Microsoft Office Package, 3-4 years of experience with a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering. EIT preferred. Candidate should also be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate in both oral and written media and be able to function effectively both independently and on teams.

Civil Engineer

ENGINEERING SERVICES


Staff Geologist/
Environmental Scientist

ENVIRONMENTAL/GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES

ACC is seeking a geologist or environmental scientist to assist the Environmental/Geotechnical Department with various Solid Waste and other environmental based projects. The position will include field work and overnight travel along with some office related tasks, such as data analysis and report writing using MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and other typical software. Candidate must have a good driving record, be capable of performing physically demanding work, and demonstrate a positive work ethic. Successful candidate will be motivated, dedicated, and desire to continue learning as well as mentor others. He or she will also strive to provide quality service, be conscientious and responsive. This position is based in the Roswell, Georgia Office and general job duties will include: 

  • Soil/rock logging and mapping and monitoring well installation
  • Potentiometric surface map and geologic cross section development
  • Statistical data analysis using commercial software
  • Groundwater and surface water sampling, and methane monitoring
  • Accurate data collection and timely transmittal
  • Assistance with contamination assessment and site characterization studies
  • Assisting team members, and project managers with preparation of Groundwater and Methane Monitoring Reports, Corrective Action Plans, and Site Suitability Reports,
  • Assistance with various permitting requirements for solid waste projects
  • Project and regulatory research
  • Client interaction when performing job duties

Qualifications

Candidate should have 0-4 years of experience with a minimum of a BS/BA degree in Geology or Environmental Science from an accredited college or university. Candidate should also be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate in both oral and written media and be able to function effectively both independently and on teams. Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.

Salary

Salary will be very competitive, varying on experience, with an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision coverage. Additionally, there will be paid personal time off and an optional 401K program.  Hours in excess of 40 in a week’s time will be paid at a time and a half rate.

Project Scientist

LANDFILL OPERATIONS

  • Oversight, technical direction, and review of process streams and operations

  • Safety and environmental program compliance

Required: 1 - 2 years of experience in environmental science or closely related field. 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

CQA Technician

CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE

Are you a highly motivated individual who is achievement oriented and interested in job site travel throughout the United States? Join our family! 

This position is a full time, year round position and requires extensive travel to job sites for periods of time, typically around 3 to 9 months at a time (per diem allowance and vehicle are provided for out of town assignments).  This position requires at least 1 to 2 years of proven solid waste field inspection work or 3 to 4 years of proven heavy civil soil testing and inspection experience. 

Qualifications

  • Dependability, timeliness, and honesty
  • Ability to read and interpret project specifications and plans related primarily to earthworks, geosynthetics, and drainage structures
  • Ability to work hours typically in excess of 60 hours per week on a 6 to 7 day per week schedule
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with co-workers, clients, contractors, and State agencies
  • Ability to take well documented notes on construction activities performed by contractors and on soil tests performed
  • Ability to perform in-place soils density testing
  • Ability to lift weight of approximately 100 pounds
  • Minimum of High School dimploma or higher educational background
  • Clean driver's record
