Atlantic Coast Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and achievement-oriented individual to assist in the design of solid waste projects. Typical tasks may include:

  • Preparation of design and construction plans for landfill cell or landfill gas extraction systems including grading design, roadway design, site design, utilities and stormwater management design, erosion and sediment control design as well as profiles, details, and volume calculations
  • Stormwater hydrology design calculations
  • Pumping systems design
  • Research local and state regulations and verify compliance
  • Customize typical details and standard construction specifications for use in construction documents

Successful candidate will prepare drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D as well as other various design software. Candidate must have working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and be proficient in Microsoft Office Package, 3-4 years of experience with a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering. EIT preferred. Candidate should also be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate in both oral and written media and be able to function effectively both independently and on teams.

Project Scientist

LANDFILL OPERATIONS

  • Oversight, technical direction, and review of process streams and operations
  • Regulatory compliance, monitoring and permitting support
  • Data calculations, cost estimates, and plan and specification review
  • Client interactions
  • Safety and environmental program compliance

Required: 1 - 2 years of experience in environmental science or closely related field. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Position requires frequent field work and overnight travel - sometimes for extended periods. Candidate must be in good health and demonstrate a commitment to quality, dependability, timeliness, and honesty.

CQA Technician

CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE

Are you a highly motivated individual who is achievement oriented and interested in job site travel throughout the United States? Join our family! 

This position is a full time, year round position and requires extensive travel to job sites for periods of time, typically around 3 to 9 months at a time (per diem allowance and vehicle are provided for out of town assignments).  This position requires at least 1 to 2 years of proven solid waste field inspection work or 3 to 4 years of proven heavy civil soil testing and inspection experience. 

Qualifications

  • Dependability, timeliness, and honesty
  • Ability to read and interpret project specifications and plans related primarily to earthworks, geosynthetics, and drainage structures
  • Ability to work hours typically in excess of 60 hours per week on a 6 to 7 day per week schedule
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with co-workers, clients, contractors, and State agencies
  • Ability to take well documented notes on construction activities performed by contractors and on soil tests performed
  • Ability to perform in-place soils density testing
  • Ability to lift weight of approximately 100 pounds
  • Minimum of High School dimploma or higher educational background
  • Clean driver's record
