Professional Civil/Environmental Engineer

To help take our mission to the next level, we are seeking an energetic, business-savvy, technically-grounded new team member to join the ACC family as an Environmental Professional Engineer!

Environmental Professionals in this role will support the organization through the development, review, and execution of new and existing technical projects to achieve overall client goals. This position requires a candidate who has a high degree of self-direction, can positively impact the business as both a team member and professional, is comfortable wearing multiple hats in an entrepreneurial environment, and who showcases a relentless desire to champion our clients and their needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organization, executing and coordinating assignments.

  • Plans and develops projects concerned with unique problems.

  • Maintains a liaison with key engineers, geologists within or outside of the Company with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters.

  • Receives general direction on key objectives and guidance from supervisor on complex problems.

  • Communicates with clients and regulators regarding project status.

  • Educates junior staff regarding company standards and technical design methods.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years or more in Civil/Environmental Engineering combined with an Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • Professional Engineering license.

  • Specialty certification a plus.

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and directs a number of small to large projects.

  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.

  • Coordinates with staff necessary to complete project.

  • Prepares proposals including detailed scope and budgets to provide professional services.

  • Member of industry related professional organization such as SWANA, ASCE, etc. a plus.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work in multi-tasked environment and adapt to flexible project schedule.

  • Expert in AutoCAD and stormwater conduit and pond design.

  • Proficient in all D&O landfill model design calculations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work primarily performed in indoor office setting with support staff and coordination with other Project Managers, Engineers and Environmental Scientists. Environmental factors are subject to change without notice on occasion. This job operates in a professional team fostered office environment.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position may require standing, bending, kneeling, and sitting for continuous periods of time longer than thirty minutes. Physical strength and agility must be sufficient to permit the employee to repeatedly lift objects weighing a minimum of two pounds; and up to fifty pounds. Pursuant to ADA guidelines, reasonable accommodations will be made where applicable to perform the essential functions of the position.

TRAVEL:

Occasional US travel may be required for 20 percent of the time.
